Sports massage
Sports massage is a procedure used to improve the care and performance of an athlete. The purpose of this massage is to keep the athlete in optimal shape for the competitions, prevent injuries and accelerate recovery.
The general objectives are:
- Prepare the muscles for sports activity, keeping them in an optimal state
- Prevention of injuries both in training and in competition.
- Recovery of injuries
Likewise, micro muscular ruptures can occur at the microscopic level, giving rise to processes of inflammation, regeneration and tissue remodeling that will last longer or shorter depending on their severity.
There are different phases of sports massage:
- Preparatory / precompetic massage
- Recovery / post competition massage
- Maintenance massage
